This box does include imported produce at lean times, especially between Christmas and June. March – May is the leanest time for Irish seasonal veg, traditionally called “the Hungry Gap” as the veg from last years harvest is all gone, or has begun sprouting in the warm spring weather. The new produce is only sown in February and wont be ready for harvesting until June or July.
